Giwa bridge guide

Bridge test ETH to Giwa Sepolia.

Move test ETH from Ethereum Sepolia to Giwa Sepolia with Giwa’s official bridge, know how long it takes each way, and avoid the fake bridges that scammers use.

Why you need to bridge

Ethereum Sepolia and Giwa Sepolia keep separate balances. ETH you hold on Ethereum Sepolia, the Layer 1 test network, does not appear on Giwa Sepolia until you bridge it. Bridging moves ETH from Layer 1 to Layer 2 and back, as described in Giwa’s bridging documentation.

Before you start

  • You need Sepolia ETH on Ethereum Sepolia. Any Ethereum Sepolia faucet provides it.
  • Add Giwa Sepolia to your wallet first. Our Giwa Sepolia setup guide lists the chain ID, RPC and explorer.
  • Test ETH has no monetary value. Never pay real money for it.
  • If you only need a little test ETH, the official Giwa faucet is faster than bridging.

Deposit: Ethereum Sepolia to Giwa Sepolia

Use the official bridge at sepolia-bridge.giwa.io, which Giwa lists in its bridge documentation.

  1. Open the bridge and connect your wallet.
  2. Choose Ethereum Sepolia as the source and Giwa Sepolia as the destination.
  3. Enter an amount and confirm the transaction in your wallet on Ethereum Sepolia.
  4. Wait for the deposit to arrive. Giwa’s documentation says deposits usually take about 1 to 3 minutes, because Giwa waits for the Layer 1 transaction to be final.

Behind the scenes, your ETH is locked in Giwa’s bridge contract on Ethereum Sepolia and the same amount is credited to your address on Giwa Sepolia. The bridge’s screens can change; follow the labels it shows and check every wallet prompt before approving.

Withdraw: Giwa Sepolia back to Ethereum Sepolia

Withdrawals take much longer than deposits. According to Giwa’s ETH bridging documentation, a withdrawal has three steps: start it on Giwa Sepolia, prove it on Ethereum Sepolia, then finalize it on Ethereum Sepolia after a challenge period of about 7 days. Plan for more than a week before the ETH is back on Layer 1.

Check your deposit

Make sure your wallet has Giwa Sepolia selected, with chain ID 91342, then search your public address on the Giwa Sepolia explorer to see the deposit and your balance.

Avoid fake bridges

A bridge is where ETH leaves Ethereum, which makes fake bridges a favourite scam. Giwa mainnet is still under development, so any “Giwa mainnet bridge” is fake. Only use bridge links from docs.giwa.io, and read our Giwa scam safety guide before you bridge.
